The idea for today's prompt occurred to me as I was reading this evening. I don't remember ever seeing one like this on Pinterest; I created the graphic using the website Canva. If there is another prompt on the Internet like this, I did not purposefully copy it; if I knew it existed, I'd give credit where credit is due. Anyway, here it is . . .
Although I called it the "Mary Sue Effect", you don't necessarily have to create a Mary Sue (the author inserts him/herself as a character in a story) to use this prompt. For example, if I wrote a story like this, I would choose Cinderella (Disney version), and my character would be an original character who might have a few of my attributes (i.e. my curiosity). A maid at the palace whose curiosity gets the best of her, so she slips her foot into the slipper Cinderella leaves behind . . . I will say no more because I might actually write this!
If you choose to write from this prompt, let me know in the comments!
Until the next post . . . keep smiling!
