Last Friday was National Siblings Day. Many of my Facebook friends posted photographs and sweet comments about their siblings. I, however, posted nothing because . . . well, I didn’t realize it was a holiday in time to grab photos from my mother. But that’s okay. My brother rarely visits Facebook.
Anyway, in honor of National Siblings Day, I decided to dedicate this Throwback Thursday to my brother Gregory Baney.
Greg is two and a half years younger than me. My mother tells the story that when she brought him home from the hospital, I thought he was my new baby doll. Every time he cried, I cried. Poor Mom; I’m not sure how she survived those first few days with two wailing youngsters.

Anyway, from Day One, Greg and I were inseparable and I was an extremely protective older sister. Nobody messed with my little brother. Except me. Zoe and Hammie from the comic strip Baby Blues best portray our relationship. I wanted to post my favorite strip from the comic, but didn’t want to violate copyright laws. Click here to check out the comic.
Life has taken Greg and me down different paths, and we don’t get to see each other nearly often enough. But no matter what life throws our way, he will always be my little brother.
