Since today is National Haiku Poetry Month, today's post will feature haiku. Haiku are three-lined poems with seventeen syllables: five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five again in the last. They originated in Japanese, and nature is typically the topic. However, haiku can be about anything topic. They are actually my favorite type of poems to write. Here is a haiku I wrote this evening that sums up today:
to watch a cheesy movie
or read sappy books
