#1: There are more published authors in this area than I ever imagined. According to the fair host, there were twenty-one participants. I was unable to visit with all of them, but I am featuring a few of the ones with whom I spoke on my Check it Out page. Feel free to “check it out!”
#2: Bookmarks are an awesome marketing tool. Those who accepted them seemed genuinely interested in my book. The people who were not interested in the book or the bookmark politely declined to take one. Economic advertising!
#3: My family is awesome! I already knew this, but yesterday they proved their awesomeness yet again. My husband helped me at the fair, my mother checked in via phone, and my in-laws brought gloves and offered to bring heavier coats. (It was A LOT windier than expected!)
#4: My students are sweethearts! I already knew this as well. The Beta students were helping the younger children at the art fair down the road from the author fair; and during their breaks, several of them stopped by my table to simply say hello.
#5: The wind in October burns just as badly as the scorching sun in July. Only my face and scalp suffered because the rest of my porcelain flesh was covered. Just call me lobster-face!
